The Tuscarawas Philharmonic will present the second concert of its “Intermezzo” season with a virtual performance on Saturday, October 3rd at 7:30 p.m. Viewers are invited to join the orchestra on its website, YouTube, or Facebook page to enjoy Camille Saint-Saëns’s miniature masterpiece, “Carnival of the Animals.”

Written in 1886, this delightful chamber suite takes listeners on a trip to the zoo, where they meet a lion, hens and roosters, tortoises, an elephant, kangaroos, and much more. This light- hearted, humorous piece will be performed by a nine-piece socially distanced orchestra and narrator, under the baton of Maestro Eric Benjamin.

In addition, Tuscarawas Philharmonic will partner with Tuscarawas County music teachers to provide this season’s performances as an online venue for classroom learning. Students in grades K-12 are invited to submit artwork as visual accompaniment to the orchestra’s online performance.
